Incorporating Power Electronic Converters Reliability Into Modern Power System Reliability Analysis

This article aims to incorporate the reliability model of power electronic converters into system analysis. The converter has widely been explored in device- and converter-levels according physics failure However, optimal decision-making for design, planning, operation, maintenance require system-level modeling electronic-based systems. Therefore, this proposes a procedure evaluate systems from device-level up system-level. Furthermore, impact rates including random chance wear-out failures on performance different applications such as wind turbine transmission lines is illustrated.
